Behaviour Therapy and Learning Centre

Autism affects 1 in 66 children. It affects all areas of development. Extensive research on early development for children with autism stresses the importance of intensive and
early intervention. For most children with autism, strong, evidence based early intervention results in significant and accelerated gains in learning, communication and social skills. It can make a lifetime of difference.
While there are other organizations within Calgary providing early intervention programs, Behaviour Therapy and Learning Centre (BTLC) is dedicated to using the extensively
researched and proven strategies of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) in a classroom setting.
BTLC uses systematic and structured teaching strategies, based in the science of behaviour theory, to reduce problem behaviours that interfere with a child learning and appropriately interacting with others and develop positive skills and behaviours. Functional skills including: play and social interaction, communication, language comprehension, active
participation in classroom activities, independence and adaptive skills, early literacy and math are broken down and systematically taught using repetition, planned prompting and reinforcement.
