Want to become more involved in your community and Canada’s democratic process? Want to meet other passionate youth who want to make a change? Sounds like this is the opportunity for you! An initiative under Canada Service Corps, RISE is a 15 week program where you will get the opportunity to co-create and implement a community project. Working with a small group of youth and an experienced program coordinator, you will have access to skill-building, workshops, networking opportunities, and a $4000 budget that will support you in bringing your ideas to life! RISE is designed for young people with little to no previous experience in volunteering. We mean it! You don’t need to have ANY previous experience to join! Who is eligible: must be 18-30 years of age (inclusive), must live in or near Edmonton or Calgary, must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status! No work, education, or volunteer experience required! The perks of being a RISE Ambassador include: An all expenses paid retreat from February 20 to 22, 2026, free dinner at the weekly hub meetings, skill building and networking opportunities, and a $4000 budget to co-create a community project with passionate youth in your city! The time commitment is six hours a week for 15 weeks. There is an in-person meeting once a week that occurs during a weekday evening from 6:00pm - 9:00pm.
