1 Day Volunteer Opportunities! Support the Alzheimer Calgary Walk & Run October 11th/26!!

The annual, signature Alzheimer Calgary Walk & Run is on October 11th/26! This event brings over 1,500 people together for an uplifting, high energy walk through downtown and the Bow River pathways. 
We are recruiting for several roles including Event set up & take down, Water Stations (hydrate those runners!), Route Marshals (guide the participants!), Greeters (cheer them on), Registration Table, Lost & Found Booth, Activation Stations & Entertainment Support (interactive and fun!). Shifts are outside and up to 4 hours; generally starting at 8AM. There will be mandatory volunteer orientation either in-person or virtual depending upon the role you chose.
The day will include music, entertainment, food, vendor and activities to nourish the soul. It is an opportunity to engage in a meaningful day, recognizing loved ones you may know or have lost to dementia and/or supporting those currently impacted by dementia in our community.
Additional Details & Skills Required
There will be a mandatory volunteer orientation to your role. Dependent upon the role, it may be in person or virtual. An Eventbrite link will be forwarded to you to register for the training.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
You will enhance and develop your communication skills and interpersonal skills with race participants and team members. You will assist with organizing and leading race participants as well as the entertainment. You will support participants with encouragement and guide them to their routes. You will be part of a community of people raising awareness about dementia and supporting those impacted by dementia.
