The Alberta Sport & Recreation Association for the Blind (ASRAB) is here to support visually impaired participants of all ages and to enhance their quality of life through an active lifestyle. In the Red Deer area, we plan monthly activities and could use some volunteer assistance to ensure each participant has a guide. We have an annual event fundraiser in October, called Sight Night, which requires a lot of volunteers along the 8km course at Bower Ponds and Heritage Ranch.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Our volunteers have the chance to learn what it's like for people with a visual impairment to maneuver through different activities. Really good for raising awareness! Our volunteers also get a chance to meet lots of great people and take part in fun activities ranging from Yoga, to walking to disc golf, and more!
