Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up, it's bobsled time! Alberta Bobsleigh Association is seeking Board Members and Board Treasurer

For over 40 years Alberta Bobsleigh Association has been promoting the demanding and exhilarating sport of bobsleigh by providing opportunities for people to gain experience in the sport and developing athletes to compete at the National and International levels including the Olympics. 

Our Mission is to INSPIRE Passion and Develop Champions on and off the track with a Vision to establish Alberta as a leading centre for bobsleigh in Canada.

We are seeking individuals who have a passion for sport, strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to act with integrity, transparency, and accountability as well as the following specific skill sets:

•	Financial management 
•	Policy management 
•	Fundraising, sponsorship and donor engagement
•	Marketing and communications

Currently the Board of Directors operates as a management board with Directors contributing to both governance and certain operational duties and are responsible for the advancement of ABA’s Mission and Vision through oversight of the organization finances, policies and resources. Board members are appointed for a 3-year term.

Board Member Responsibilities
1.	Commitment to ABA Bylaws and Mission/Vision Statements
2.	Attendance at monthly Board Meetings
3.	Attendance at assigned committee meetings
4.	Attendance at Annual General Meetings
5.	Support and participation in operational planning and fundraising 
6.	Participate in approving the annual budget, audit, annual financial report and 
        periodic financial statements
7.	Monitor the community’s response to the organization’s programs
Time Required 2-5 hours monthly

Treasurer Specific Duties
1.      Organization of proper accounting records in compliance with the Societies 
        Act and bylaws
2.	Developing and monitoring the association’s budget, including revenue 
        projections and expense allocations
3.	Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing and distributing financial 
        reports
4.	Collection and disbursement of funds including membership and program fees 
        and association expenses
5.	Prepare annual final statement for distribution to association members and 
        funders duly audited by a qualified accountant
Time Required 5-8 hours monthly
