Inventory Team Volunteer - AARCS
Help keep our rescue running behind the scenes! Every donation, bag of food, blanket, and supply plays an important role in caring for the animals at AARCS. As an Inventory Team Volunteer, you'll help ensure our shelter and foster program have the supplies they need to provide exceptional care. If you enjoy organizing, staying active, and making a meaningful impact behind the scenes, this is the perfect opportunity to support hundreds of animals on their journey to finding loving homes. What You'll Do - Working alongside staff and fellow volunteers, you will: - Receive, sort, organize, and store incoming donations - Disinfect donated items where required - Empty outdoor donation bins to make room for new donations - Keep foster supply areas clean, organized, and well stocked - Rotate food inventory and monitor expiry dates - Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and facility - Follow all disinfecting and quarantine protocols Every shift helps ensure our animals, foster homes, and care teams have the resources they need. What We're Looking For We're seeking volunteers who: - Have a genuine passion for animal welfare - Enjoy organizing and keeping spaces tidy - Can work independently while also being part of a team - Are self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks - Are willing to learn and follow established procedures - Enjoy active, hands-on volunteer work - Ability to lift and carry donations and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs (11 kg); occasional heavier lifting with assistance. - Ability to stand, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods during a shift. - Comfortable performing repetitive tasks such as sorting, stocking, and organizing materials. Training & Support You'll receive the training and support needed to feel confident in your role, including: - New Volunteer Orientation - Inventory Team orientation and hands-on training - Training on donation processing and inventory procedures - Ongoing support from staff and volunteer leaders
