Adult Literacy Tutoring Service (ALTS)

Since 1980 the Transitional Vocational Program at Mount Royal University has been providing a variety of unique post-secondary programs that foster personal, professional and academic growth for adults with developmental disabilities. The Transitional Vocational Program (TVP) and the Adult Literacy Tutoring Service (ALTS) require tutors to assist students, on a 1 to 1 basis, focusing on numeracy, writing, reading and communications skills. Assisting as a volunteer tutor helps learners with mild disabilities to prepare for employment and independent living.
