Volunteer Day at Stream of Dreams in Burnaby August 17 or 24

6825 Cariboo Road, Burnaby, BC, V3N 4A3 [map]
2-8 hours / weekly
-
Stream of Dreams Murals Society is a Canadian charity that delivers our award-winning 'Fish on Fences' program to educate elementary school children about protecting our streams through a unique science-to-art process.

We are asking for your help to prepare supplies for the upcoming 2026 school programs.

Volunteer Dates: Monday, August 17 and 24
Times: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Location: 6825 Cariboo Road, Burnaby --- Look for the orange cones at the entrance and knock on the door of the big yellow house!

Tasks:
1. Cutting and bending some craft wire that we will eventually use in our school programs to secure wood fish to chain link fences. It isn't the most exciting work, but something we definitely need and sincerely appreciate.
2. Cutting old towels that we use in our school programs to blot paint brushes on. If you happen to have some old towels to donate, feel free to bring them as well!
3. Sorting through many boxes of old program materials to help reorganize.

We will provide some light snacks for everyone. Please bring a lunch, we have a fridge and microwave you can use as well.

I will happily sign any forms or send along a letter confirming your volunteer hours if you need these for high school. You also don't need to commit to both days, as any time you can spare will be greatly appreciated!

Our driveway is somewhat hidden - look for the orange cones on either side of our chain link fence along Cariboo Road. If taking transit, we are about a 10 minute walk from the Skytrain at Production Way/ University or right next to a bus stop for the 101. Just come in the big front door when you arrive. We look forward to seeing you!
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
This is a great opportunity for youth or adults needing volunteer hours or for anyone wanting to assist with a program that educates and protects our precious streams and rivers.
