Fitness Class Assistant

This is a recreational therapy program designed to provide an opportunity for senior residents in wheelchairs to exercise using gentle exercises that are adapted for people in wheelchairs.

Volunteers help escort residents to the program and set them up in a circle. Volunteers join in the activity and model the movements lead by the recreation worker. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in the exercises and demonstrate enthusiasm and interest. After the program is completed, volunteers help with returning residents to their rooms, units or dining room for their meal. 

Available shifts: Everyday from 10:45- 12 noon.
