We support the wellbeing of all families and children empowering those in parenting role through communities. Connection, education and advocacy.
PSS works directly with parents, grandparents and caregivers. We also promote our mission by advocating within the broader community. Our advocacy work includes support for those in a parenting role dealing with a family crisis and liaison work with other organizations to lobby for legislative and administrative changes around child abuse prevention.

Our Parents Support Circles (PSC) strengthen the first link in a chain that connects positive caregiving with healthy children, and help healthy families build strong communities. PSCs are run by two volunteer co-facilitators who are trained and supported by PSS staff and by other volunteers. Parents, grandparents and other caregivers may refer themselves to a Support Circle or may be referred by a professional. PSS takes steps to ensure our program is inclusive and accessible. Our circles are free and in 7 languages.

GRG support circles help grandparents and others raising a family member’s child learn positive parenting by providing them with a safe atmosphere in which to share their stories and stresses, learn new skills, receive emotional support and discover services and resources. These grandparents have already been parents, and face specific challenges. GRG support circle are meeting unique needs, and therefore often have different dynamic than the other PSCs.
