Event 50/50 Raffle Steward

2 shifts between May to October
We’re back for another season at the Hastings racing track! 

We are looking for outgoing folks who can help us connect with the community and raise funds while having fun! Teams of volunteers will walk around to cover the entire venue (except the casino). The draw happens at roughly 4:50 pm for day shifts and 9:25 pm for evening shifts. Some of the shifts coincide with special events happening at the racecourse, like Dog Races and Wrestling Nights. 

As a 50/50 Raffle Steward, you will help us spread awareness and sell 50/50 tickets to racecourse patrons. You should love connecting with people and enjoy fast-paced environments.

Age requirement: Volunteers must be at least 19 years old.

Responsibilities: 

*Walking around the venue in teams of 2 or 3 and selling 50/50 tickets to attendees.
*Handling small amounts of cash.
*Operating Square reader through iPad.
*Spreading awareness about the GVFB.
*Potentially helping the host draw the winning 50/50 ticket.

Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

*Proficient English language skills.
*Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
*Comfortable communicating with the public in loud and fast-paced environments.
*Ability to follow directions.
*Ability to work under minimal supervision.
*Ability to walk and use stairs.
*Ability to bend, twist, and lift up to 20 lbs.

Shift Times: This event series runs from May to October 2025. We are looking for outgoing folks who can help us connect with the community and raise funds while having fun!

Commitment: Volunteers are required to attend at least 2 shifts between May and October.
