Content Shooter / Media Assistant – Campaign Media Team
Garnet for Burnaby is seeking a reliable and creative Content Shooter / Media Assistant to help document and produce media for an independent city council campaign. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone interested in videography, photography, or digital storytelling who wants real-world experience inside a live political campaign. You will work directly with the candidate at community events, public appearances, and campaign activities to capture content that will be used across social media and digital platforms. All professional equipment is provided. ⸻ What will the Volunteer be doing? • Operating camera during speeches, community events, and public appearances • Capturing short-form video content (Reels-style footage) • Taking candid behind-the-scenes photos • Assisting with lighting, audio, and setup • Basic editing of short clips (or willingness to learn) • Helping turn raw moments into polished digital content You’ll be in the room where it happens. ⸻ What skills do you need from Volunteers? • Interest in videography, photography, or digital media • Basic understanding of camera operation (or willingness to learn quickly) • Steady hands and attention to framing • Dependable and punctual • Comfortable working in public settings • Professional conduct Bonus: Experience with editing software (CapCut, Final Cut, Premiere, etc.)
