Burnaby Neighborhood House is seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Volunteer Home Visitors! By becoming a volunteer home visitor, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of seniors in Burnaby by helping us to visit seniors’ homes to determine their eligibility for transportations and housekeeping services

What You'll Do:
• Visit seniors’ homes to ensure their well-being.
• Review seniors’ Notice of Assessments to determine subsidy levels they are eligible for transportation and housekeeping services
• Guide them through consent forms
• Must be friendly, reliable and patient, enjoy helping people and having conversations with seniors.

Skills, Experience, Qualifications Required
• A reliable mean of transportation.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor.
• Respect for confidentiality and commitment to professionalism.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal record check.

Time Commitment
• We are looking for on call volunteers
• 3 months minimum commitment
• All mileages driven from the volunteer’s residence to the senior’s residence and back will be reimbursed.

All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application process with the Burnaby Neighbourhood House. This includes a volunteer application form, informal interview (10 mins), completing an online volunteer orientation (22 mins.), and policy form. Our Volunteer Drivers will be reimbursed for mileages driven.
