Background: Burnaby Neighborhood House’s Senior Team runs a variety of programs designed to support seniors in Burnaby. These programs include Burnaby Meals on Wheels, Senior Shopping, and Prepare Meals. • Burnaby Meals on Wheels provides hot and frozen meals delivered to Burnaby residents who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. • Senior Shopping helps seniors shop for groceries online each week. • Prepare Meals offers frozen meals for pick-up and biweekly deliveries. Who are we looking for? We are seeking a compassionate and reliable volunteer who can help support these vital programs and interact with our senior community in Burnaby. The volunteer location will vary depending on the day of the week: • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: Brentwood Office, 2055 Rosser St • Tuesdays and Thursdays: South Office, 4460 Beresford St Duties may include: • Engaging with seniors by collecting grocery lists, taking orders for prepared meals, and responding to inquiries about the meal programs. • Placing Superstore orders for seniors' grocery shopping. • Cleaning Burnaby Meals on Wheels delivery bags. • Creating labels and preparing delivery bags for Meals on Wheels. • Labelling frozen meals for the Prepare Meals program. • Conducting inventory counts for frozen meals. • Organizing frozen meals in the freezer. • Assisting with mailing out invoices.
