Burnaby Meals on Wheels Volunteer Driver

Are you interested in helping those in Burnaby?
We are looking for volunteers to help deliver meals to Burnaby residents who, for reasons of age, illness or disability are unable to prepare meals for themselves.


Description
Pick up meals at our Brentwood location (2055 Rosser Ave) and delivering meals to clients in a safe and timely manner. Meals will be delivered between 10:30am – 12:30pm to seniors at home.

Volunteers will need to follow directions (i.e. instructions for where to put meal, where to enter building etc.) and work independently.

Communicate with Program Coordinator regarding client concerns, undeliverable meals and special requests
Must be friendly, reliable and patient, enjoy driving, enjoy helping people


Skills, Experience, Qualifications Required
Access to own vehicle
Current driver’s license
Good knowledge of how to navigate Burnaby is beneficial, map reading skill


Time Commitment
Meals on Wheels delivers every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 10:30am -1pm
We are looking for regular volunteers or on call volunteers
3 months minimum commitment

All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application process with the Burnaby Neighbourhood House. This includes a volunteer application form, informal interview (10 mins), completing an online volunteer orientation (22 mins.), and policy form.
