BFL United Way School's out Summer Camp Volunteer
Volunteers will work together with staff taking care of children of different ages; 5 years old to 10 years old in our summer camp program. Volunteers will assist program staff in setting up the room with different activities, may accompanying field trip, attending to the children’s needs and assists staff in planning and preparing snacks and meals as needed. Utilizes teaching techniques such as role modeling, observing, demonstrating, and reinforcing. Cleaning & sanitizing the facility. Location and hours: Edmonds Community School 7651 18th Avenue, Burnaby Starting July 3rd through August 15th Mon- Fri/ 9:00am – 3:00pm Mon -Fri/ 9:00am – 12:00pm Mon -Fri/ 12:00pm - 3:00pm Commitment: Time shifts: 9:00am – 3:00pm/9:00am – 12:00pm/ 12:00pm - 3:00pm Mon- FRI for 2 weeks or 1 session Available sessions: Session 1: July 3 - 18 Session 2: July 21 - Aug 1 Session 3: August 5 - 15 Skills and Experience: • Experience working with young children is an asset • Enjoy interacting and feel comfortable around young children • Reliable and committed Other requirements: • Good reference checks • Successful completion of criminal record check (only for candidates over 18) • 16 years and up Benefits to Volunteer: • This position is suitable for ECE students • To gain experience working with young children • Will receive a Certificate of Appreciation with total service hours for the contribution • Bus tickets provided if required For more information please visit: https://www.burnabyfamilylife.org/volunteer
