Pre & Post Natal Services Volunteer

Ongoing
Volunteers will work together with staff to take care of babies up to 18 months. Provide support to Pre & Post Natal program staff and advocacy to POPs clients, dealing with issues of substance abuse, addictions, isolation, low income, single parenting, mental health, and more to improve positive birth outcomes.

Volunteers will assist program staff in setting up the room and assist staff when needed. Utilizes a nonjudgmental environment and ability to work confidently, work independently within a team setting with a good organization, time and self-management; and knowledge of risk assessment and priority management skills to create a comfortable atmosphere and establish trusting relationships.

Schedule & Location
• Wednesdays-Thursdays/ 11:30am-2:30pm @Edmonds Neighborhood Resources Centre (7355 Canada Way, Burnaby)

Skills and Experience: 
•  Experience working with working with baby is an asset
•  Enjoy interacting and feel comfortable around babies
•  ECE, nursing students preferred
•  First Aid preferred
•  Reliable and committed

Other requirements: 
•  Good reference checks letter
•  Successful completion of criminal record check
•  19 years and up
•  Minimum commitment of 2-3 months for 1 shift (2.5-3 hour) per week on a consistent day. Exceptions may apply.
