Event set up volunteer
Join us on May 31, 2026 to help us set up for our community event to celebrate International Children's day. Come interact with other members of the community and experience inner peace, fun and creativity. We need volunteers from 12-4 pm: - Venue Setup: Assist with arranging chairs, organizing the event space, and setting up decorations During the Event: - Welcoming the guests: Give flyers, collect information etc. - Event Support: For any on-the-spot needs - Media Coverage: Take photos and videos for social media and event promotion. - Attendee Engagement: Collect feedback And most importantly, enjoy the event with us! We will also need help after event: - Venue Takedown: Assist with removing decorations, packing up audio/visual equipment, and organizing chairs. We will provide volunteer hours for all the hours you spend with us! About Us: We are Sahaja Yoga Meditation Network of Halton (SYMN). For the last 21 years, our group of dedicated volunteers have continued on their mission to nurture inner peace and joy leading to (mental/emotional/physical) self-realization through inclusive, creative and engaging culture & wellness-oriented experiences; always free and open to all! Since its launch, this initiative has delivered over 500 free community workshops annually across Halton, integrating meditation, arts, cultural expression, and wellness practices. Our efforts have been recognized through several community honors, including: The 2024 Halton Volunteer Impact Award The 2025 Community Spirit Award (presented by MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos) The 2025 Civic Recognition Award from the City of Burlington Recognition from Ontario government for our free, annual Festival of New Beginnings 2026
