Open studio art facilitator

3-4 hours / weekly

Volunteers will set-up and facilitate creative activities in an open studio format. These are semi-instructional sessions, where participants are encouraged to express their own creativity with the art medium they choose to work with. Volunteers will assist attendees with selecting material, share artistic inputs and show pre-made samples.  There will be scope to assist both ongoing 'collective' projects (eg, paper weaving, or mosaic pieces)  as well as individual pieces.
Volunteers will also get attendees to sign-in, administer feedback forms (as and when required), take photos/videos (with consent) during sessions and help with putting away and cleaning up after a session.

You will bring with you following:
Attributes :  
•	A positive, open mindset and creative imagination!
•	Believe in crafting with recycled-reused-repurposed material
•	Any of the following skills in art and craft such as -working with mixed media, paper crafting, junk journaling, collage-making, scrap-booking, crochet, knitting, embroidery, water colour and acrylics, clay modeling
•	Skills in theatre, music, chair yoga, tai chi, rhythmic movement would be an additional asset
•	Comfortable working with people of varying age groups, physical and mental abilities
IDEAL for:
•	High School students enrolled in Arts SHSM programs
•	Post-Secondary students enrolled in Art based course, art/recreational  therapy program looking for internship or co-op placement
•	Individuals passionate about art making with the community
•	Newcomers with artistic backgrounds looking to make new connections
Additional Details & Skills Required
The program is located in Burlington, ON. Suitable for candidates residing in any of the towns in Halton Region (southern Ontario) or Greater Toronto Area.
Certification or Education Required
professional or self-taught proficiency in creative skills such as art-making, crafting, music, dance, storytelling, writing.
