Neurodiverse Program Support
Math & Literacy Program Support Volunteer Location: Halton Hills Public Library – Georgetown Branch Day/Time: Mondays, 4:45 PM – 7:30 PM About the Role: The Centre for Diverse Learners is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer to support our Mastering Mathematics and Leaps in Literacy programs at the Georgetown Public Library. These programs are designed for students in Grades 2–8 who have diagnosed or suspected learning disabilities and benefit from a supportive, small-group learning environment. Volunteer Responsibilities: Assist the educator in preparing learning materials and setting up the classroom before sessions begin. Support students during activities by encouraging participation and providing gentle guidance when needed. Help distribute and collect program materials, manipulatives, and worksheets. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students. Assist with cleanup and organization at the end of each session. Communicate any student concerns or observations to the program educator or Program Manager. Qualifications: Comfortable working with children in Grades 2–8. Patient, positive, and reliable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Interest in education, child development, or working with neurodiverse learners is an asset. Volunteers aged 16+ are welcome to apply. Commitment: Mondays from 4:45 PM to 7:30 PM for the duration of the program session (approximately 9 weeks).
