Math Support Program Volunteer (BURLINGTON - RYC)

About the Program:
Support students in grades 2–8 in our Mastering Mathematics program. Volunteers assist with hands-on activities and exercises that strengthen math concepts and build confidence. Your encouragement helps students see math as something they can succeed at and even enjoy.

Volunteers do not provide direct instruction. Instead, they assist the facilitator, help sessions run smoothly, and provide gentle, student‑centered support.

Program Details:
Location: 560 Guelph Line, Burlington, ON L7R 3M4
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday
Time: 4:45-7:30 PM
Duration: March 30th - May 29th 

What You’ll Do
As a Leaps in Literacy volunteer, you’ll help create a welcoming and organized learning space by greeting students, assisting with classroom setup, and helping prepare materials for activities. During sessions, you’ll participate in small‑group activities and offer encouragement to help students stay engaged.

You’ll provide gentle support by sitting with students, helping them transition between tasks, and assisting with simple needs such as washroom, water, or body breaks. At the end of each session, you’ll help ensure students are safely met and dismissed.

Volunteers are expected to maintain confidentiality, communicate any concerns discreetly to the facilitator, and model kindness, patience, and professionalism throughout each session to support a positive learning environment.
