Make a Difference in the Lives of Neurodiverse Students! Become a Literacy Program Volunteer Location: 1070 McCraney St E, Oakville, ON L6H 2R6 Dates: Tuesday and/or Thursday Time: 4:45 pm - 7:45 pm Duration: Oct 20th, 2025 – May 29th, 2026 Fall: October 20 – December 19 Winter: January 12 – March 13 Spring: March 30 – May 29 Are you passionate about education and eager to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and youth? Join the Centre for Diverse Learners (formerly the Learning Disabilities Association of Halton-Hamilton) as a volunteer for our Leaps in Literacy Program! Join the Centre for Diverse Learners' Leaps in Literacy program and help neurodiverse children (ages 6-12) build foundational literacy skills like decoding words, understanding spelling patterns, and proper letter formation. Volunteers support small groups of 2-4 students and assist educators with program delivery, one-on-one student support, and creating a safe, engaging learning environment. Requirements: - Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (within the past 12 months). - Mandatory training, including the ‘Plan to Protect’ program. - Enthusiasm, reliability, and a passion for working with children.
