Community Ambassador

Objective: To represent and promote the Centre for Diverse Learners at community festivals, engaging with the public to raise awareness about the charity's mission, programs, and volunteer opportunities. 

Responsibilities: 
-Set up and take down the charity's booth at community festivals. 
-Engage with festival attendees, providing information about the Centre for Diverse Learners. 
-Help distribute brochures, flyers, and other promotional materials. 
-Collect contact information from individuals interested in volunteering or supporting the charity – ex. Newsletter, donors, new families, etc. 
-Assist in organizing and running interactive activities or demonstrations if applicable – space in mind.  
-Report feedback and suggestions from festival attendees to the charity's leadership team.  

Skills Required: 
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
-Enthusiastic and outgoing personality. 
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
-Organizational skills and attention to detail. 
-Previous experience in customer service or public speaking is a plus. 

Commitment: 
-Must be available for at least one festival per month (specific dates and times will be provided in advance). 
-Attending a training session prior to the first festival – this would be virtual training held via MS Teams, group training. (1 hour – meet and greet, talking about tasks, giving a brief run down about programs, etc.) 
-Location: Various community festivals within the local area. (Cactus fest, SuperCrawl, etc.)
