Location: Bronte Creek Provincial Park (Park entry will be provided) Schedule: Camp Maple runs for two weeks in July. July 8-12 & July 15-19. Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. One week minimum commitment required. (42.5 hours) Job Description: We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Camp Maple Volunteers. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting our camp operations and ensuring the safety and well-being of our campers. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of children and contribute to the success of our camp community. Responsibilities: Assist Camp Counsellors: Work closely with camp counsellors to facilitate activities, supervise campers, and ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all. Engage with Campers: Interact with campers in a positive and supportive manner, fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging participation in camp activities. Help with Activity Setup: Assist in setting up and organizing sports, arts and crafts, and other camp activities, ensuring materials are readily available and spaces are prepared for use. Supervise Campers: Provide supervision and guidance to campers during scheduled activities, meal times, and free play, ensuring adherence to camp rules and safety guidelines. Support Camp Operations: Assist with general camp tasks, such as distributing supplies, organizing equipment, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the campsite. Promote Camp Values: Uphold Camp Maple's values of inclusivity, respect, and teamwork, serving as a positive role model for campers and fellow volunteers. Qualifications: Passion for working with children and creating positive experiences. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude. Previous experience working with children or in a camp setting is preferred but not required. Must pass a vulnerable sector background check.
