Special Events Volunteer/Fundraising

Are you over the age of 18?  Are you an organized individual who enjoys helping at fun-filled and rewarding special events and fundraisers? If so, you may be interested in becoming a part of our special events volunteer team. Several special events are organized each year where volunteers are needed to assist with organizing and running the event. Events such as: golf tournaments, diversity day events, racquet club events, fun runs and most importantly our annual fundraising Stardust gala. The funds raised at these events goes towards providing programs for children in care such as bursaries, camps, educational programs, and seasonal gifts through the Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton.

Role
	To help organize and coordinate one or more of our fun-filled annual fundraising events.
	

Time commitment
•	Time is dependant on the requirements of each event as it arises.  
	
	Major Responsibilities
•	To assist with set-up & take downs of special events.
•	Help secure donations for silent and live auctions for some events.
•	Help secure sponsorships for some events.
•	To assist with fundraising activities which may include mailings, filing, telephone calls and organizing events with groups?
•	Distribute posters & brochures about our fun-filled events.
•	Assist with event logistics such as displaying items, registration and cashing-out.
	
	Requirements/qualifications
•	Knowledge of the Halton area.
•	Excellent social skills.
•	Good verbal communication skills.
•	Good time management and organization skills.
•	Vulnerable Sector Screening.
•	Adhere to the guidelines of the agency’s Code of Conduct.
•	Patience, sense of humour and a caring personality.

•	Executive Director, Assistant and Board Members of the Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton.
•	Supervisor of Volunteer Services
