Aquatarium

Life in the 1000 Islands is about Shipwrecks. Islands. Cottages. Steam ships. Brig Sloops. Rowing Skiffs. Castles. Otters. Snakes. Turtles. Fish. Artists. Explorers. Hydro generation. Locks. Rivers. Lost Villages. Hard work at the Docks. Lazy days on the River. And that's just a start. Each visit to the Aquatarium is a snapshot of life on the 1000 Islands. It's a day filled with curiosity and adventure galore.
As a non-profit organization, the Aquatarium relies on the support of the community to help deliver world-class exhibits, activities and programs. Our volunteers help deliver education and promote conservation in the 1000 Islands, Ontario and St. Lawrence River community. Together we strive to preserve the unique history, culture, and experiences of the region for many years to come.
As volunteers, you can help the Aquatarium continue to inspire curiosity, passion and adventure with activities for kids, teens and adults. Your investment of time and enthusiasm will help ensure that the Aquatarium can continue to be a one-of-a-kind destination for explorers just like you.
As a teaching facility as well as as a tourism destination, we welcome volunteers ready to learn and those who have experiences to share. Whether you are a High School student looking to complete volunteer hours or you have retired and are ready for a new hobby, we value your point of view and your contribution.
We're looking forward to meeting you! Message us. Come for a tour, Let's chat.
