Canva Graphic Designer - Volunteer

Start date: Immediate start
Time commitment: 4 hours per week
Location: Remote, Virtual office

Do you have a passion for design, technology, and education? The STEM Montessori Academy of Canada is looking for a creative volunteer for the Canva Graphic Designer position. Working closely with the Marketing Team and the Social Media Coordinator, you will take the lead on developing STEM Canada’s online presence (infographics, brochures, etc.), help spread awareness of STEM, and share information on our programs and initiatives. This is a remote position within Canada.

STEM Canada is a registered not for profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Works collaboratively with the Marketing Team.
- Generates engaging and informative content for the SMAC social media pages and accounts (Website, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram).
- Designs marketing materials, brochures, infographics, presentations, web elements, etc. as needed. 
- Works on other creative projects and initiatives assigned by Marketing or managers. 

Requirements:

- Excellent graphic design skills (a current or recent student of Graphic Design or related education would be an asset).
- Knowledge of Canva.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to attend occasional Zoom meetings.
