Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is a government program designed to foster strong and resilient communities through funding agencies and programs that strengthen, enrich, and enhance the quality of life for people of all ages. FCSS programs are unique to each municipality as community needs can vary greatly, but all operate within the provincial mandate which is focused on prevention. Funding decisions for the Town of Black Diamond are made by the FCSS board which is comprised of volunteer residents. Black Diamond Board members meet in the evening 6 to 10 times per year on the second Monday of the month. If you live in Black Diamond and would enjoy being part of the decision making process for social programs and events in your town you are invited to apply for a position on the Black Diamond FCSS board. More information on FCSS can be found on the province of Alberta website as well as the Family and Community Support Services Association of Alberta (FCSSAA) website.
