Dreamcatcherâ„¢ Nature Assisted Therapy is located on a beautiful 40-acre ranch just 15 mins East of Sherwood Park. Our ranch is home to a variety of rescue farm animals who have been carefully selected and screened to work alongside our Registered Psychologists & Social Workers provide unique therapy services to our community. 

Our top priority is the ethical treatment and quality care of our animals; which is why we are recruiting for reliable, dedicated, and passionate volunteers to help with animal care duties. Year-round, our volunteers provide our animals with the care and enrichment they need for their overall health and wellbeing. It takes a village to care for a farm of animals, so, teamwork is key! 

Additional Information:

Animals we have on-site: horses, mini horses, donkey/mini donkey, goats, sheep, chickens and a cat!

Duties include: feeding animals, cleaning coops, shelters, and outdoor pens, collecting and washing eggs, administering medications and supplements, and various irregular animal care duties.  

Age Requirements: Age 14+ to volunteer without a parent/guardian. Please inquire if you  would like to volunteer with children under 12. 

Shift Scheduling: 
- Shifts needed Monday-Friday with flexible scheduling available. 
- All shifts are primarily outdoors (in all weather conditions). 
- All volunteers will complete a min of 2 shadow shifts with ability to request more. 
- Animal care shifts are independent except for shadow shifts and some extra care duties.
- Shifts typically take a min of 1.5-2 hours to complete unless you wish to spend more time. 
- We request that volunteers are able to commit to at least 2 shifts per month (approx. 3-4 hours per month).
- Rurally located, reliable transportation is a must.

If you enjoy working as part of a team but also independently, have a love for animals, are not afraid to get dirty and enjoy moderate physical work, then this position is for you!
