EVENT SUPPORT VIEW POINT CALGARY 2025

Date: Saturday, May 24, 2025
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. MT (volunteers required from approximately 11:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.)

ROLE OVERVIEW
The View Point Calgary Event Support Volunteer will help ensure a smooth and accessible experience for all attendees at this conference, which provides the latest insights into vision health and research. Volunteers will assist with registration, provide sighted guide support for attendees with vision loss, and help with event set-up and breakdown. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to learn more about vision health advocacy while supporting a meaningful cause.

Responsibilities
•	Registration & Check-in (1:00–2:00 p.m.):
o	Greet attendees, check-in registrations, and distribute event materials (name tags, handouts, etc.).

•	Sighted Guide:
o	Provide sighted guide assistance for attendees with vision loss, helping them navigate the venue.
o	Sighted Guide Training at 11:00 a.m. on event day is mandatory.

•	Event Set-Up & Breakdown:
o	Assist with setting up event materials before the event begins.
o	Help clean up and pack materials after the event concludes.

QUALIFICATIONS
•	Friendly and welcoming demeanor.
•	Comfortable assisting individuals with vision loss (training provided).
•	Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
•	Reliable and punctual.

Time Commitment
Volunteers are expected to be available from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., including setup and takedown.
