Ambulatory Clinic Greeter

2 hours / weekly
Minimum commitment of four months.
Three different clinic's with in the Ambulatory Unit are currently recruiting volunteers; Gastro Intestinal, Complex Pain and Outpatients. Volunteers will greet patients coming into the Clinic, provide directions and assist with escorting patients when necessary.  

Volunteers in this role will also assist staff as needed, keep the waiting room tidy, retrieve and push wheelchairs and staxis and answer questions regarding the hospital.  It's a role that helps both our patients and staff.  Shift times available between each clinic varies but are typically Monday – Friday 9am-11am, 11am-1pm or 1pm-3pm.

Volunteer skills required are:
•	Able to assist patients who have physical and/or cognitive challenges
•	Physically capable of assisting patients and visitors in wheelchairs and carrying out the physical duties of the position
•	Able to communicate well in verbal and written English
•	Friendly, self-motivated and outgoing
•	Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or in a team
•	Able to follow detailed directions and procedures
•	Able to set firm boundaries and be able to follow staff guidance about patient care needs.
•	Courteous, mature and non-judgmental
•	Able to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
•	Interest in healthcare and a desire to help others.

Eligibility requirements:
•	Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (7 days post dose 2) and able to wear a medical face mask while volunteering on site.
•	Must be 19 years of age or older.
•	Eligible to volunteer in Canada in Healthcare.

Additional Details & Skills Required
Online training will be completed, after which you will be invited to in person training followed up by two shadow shifts
