Donor Relations Assistant: Resource Development

Frequency is twice a month on Mondays.
The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Donor Relations Assistant to join our team of volunteers. As a Donor Relations Assistant, you will play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with our generous donors, showing appreciation for their support, and ensuring they feel valued and connected to our mission. This volunteer role requires excellent phone etiquette, active listening skills, empathy, and computer proficiency, as well as a commitment to our cause.

1.	Donor Calls 
•	Contact new donors to express gratitude for their contributions to the Alzheimer Society of B.C. 
•	Engage in meaningful conversations to learn more about their connection to the cause and gather feedback on their donor experience. 
•	Provide information about the impact of their support and the various programs and initiatives they are contributing to.  
•	Provide information about the Society’s newsletters and sign donors up to receive information and/or update communication preferences. 
•	Take notes and escalate more complex requests or complaints as needed. 
•	Return calls from recipients that would like to be taken off mailing lists or modify what mailings they receive.

2.	Administrative Support: 
•	Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing and mailing solicitation packages, thank you letters, or thank you postcards to donors. 
•	Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and update donor profiles in our database. 
•	Collaborate with the fundraising team on other projects in an administrative support role. 

Skills and knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a courteous and empathetic phone manner. 
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). 
- Knowledge about the Alzheimer Society of B.C.’s programs, mission and values or aptitude to learn. 
- Experience working with donor or customer management software
