Secretary 🖊

3-5 hours / monthly
year long / ongoing
Make a difference in your community and let your name stand to be elected to our Board of Directors. Board members are elected at the 2024 Annual General Meeting in May. Once elected, the directors then appoint positions such as Secretary from amongst themselves.

Once appointed, the Secretary will be responsible for maintaining the records of the board and ensures effective record management. They do this by managing the minutes of board meetings and ensuring the minutes are distributed to members in a timely manner following each meeting. It helps if the secretary is familiar with legal documents (articles, by-laws, etc) to reference if needed during meetings.

The Secretary will be required to attend monthly board meeting visioning sessions that usually take place the second or last Tuesday evening of each month (excluding August and December), provide minutes to the president and chair, and file the completed minutes. This volunteer board member position will entail 3-5 hours each month which includes 1.5hrs per meeting, document finalizing and filing, and monthly email dialogue/prep.

Please Note: That in volunteering for this position you are letting your name stand for election at the upcoming 2024 AGM being held in May. There are currently 6 serving directors of a maximum 11, meaning directors are often elected by acclamation. You MUST be a member of Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook to be eligible for election.
