Dementia Friends

CapitalCare is looking for Dementia Friend (Friendly visitors') volunteers in our Long-Term Care Centre, it's ongoing evening volunteer role to engage one-one visits with our residents on scheduled basis from 3pm- 5pm or from 6pm-8pm. 

• Establish rapport with residents.
• Suggested activities may include reading, games, walking and socializing.
• Listen to and provide support to residents.
• Report activities, resident participation and concerns to the Coordinator of Volunteer Services/ Recreation Therapist.
• Promote a sense of wellbeing and contribute to the morale of the resident.
