The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a highly motivated Fundraising and Grants
Coordinator to join our team. As a Fundraising and Grants Coordinator, you will mainly be
responsible for overseeing fundraising efforts and strategies. You thrive in a collaborative and
entrepreneurial environment, where you actively contribute your ideas and expertise to drive
collective success.

The Role
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies
• Identify and solicit potential donors
• Assist with organizing fundraising events
• Develop and maintain relationships with relevant organizations and companies
• Participate in networking events
• Create and maintain a database of donors and prospects
• Research and identify grant opportunities that support The Dollar Detectives mission
and can support current programs
• Write grant proposals and applications
• Track grant applications and results
• Collaborate with The Dollar Detectives team
• Attend training sessions and meetings, as required

Preferred Skills and Experience:
● Passion for supporting youth from equity-seeking groups
● Passion for fundraising, business development, grant writing and research
● Familiarity with grants and fundraising for social enterprises in Alberta and Canada
● Strong research and writing skills
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Prior experience in grant writing or research is preferred
● Experience in business and fund development, especially related to social enterprises
● Passion for fundraising, financial literacy, and supporting youth
● Familiarity with funding streams in Alberta and Canada
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Prior experience in fundraising or sales is preferred
● Proficiency with using computer software, databases and current technology
● Knowledge in using modern productivity software (e.g. Slack, WhatsApp, Airtable).
● Ability to maintain a positive attitude with an excellent volunteer ethic.
