Grocery Shopping Companion Volunteer - Camrose, Alberta

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in your local community? Do you have a few hours to spare each week? CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) is looking for dedicated volunteers in Camrose, Alberta, to provide support to an individual with sight loss who is seeking assistance with grocery shopping and attending appointments.

As a CNIB Volunteer Grocery Shopping Companion, your presence can brighten someone's day and make a world of difference in their life. You'll have the opportunity to help an individual with sight loss get out of the house, shop for groceries, and attend appointments, offering both practical assistance and much-needed companionship.

Responsibilities & Tasks:
• Accompany and assist an individual with sight loss during grocery shopping trips.
• Provide support during medical appointments or other necessary outings.
• Engage in friendly conversation and be a reliable, caring companion.
• Must be willing to drive the individual in their personal vehicle, and must have $2 million liability insurance. 

Commitment:
• This is a flexible volunteer opportunity tailored to your availability.
• We ask for a minimum commitment of two hours each week for six months.
