Kitchen Helper: Sandwich Making

We have  two sandwich groups, one that meet Mondays from 1:00p to 3:00p at our 28 Street NE admin office and another sandwich group that meets at our downtown location on Thursday at our 15 Ave SE location, from 14:00 to 16:00 . Both groups require an interview and tour, Vulnerable Service Sector check through Calgary Police Services with a fee waiver. Freedom of Information and Food Safety Basics and other documents of certification are also needed. 

We work with vulnerable individuals who due to addiction and the impacts of not having housing and related mental health issues met, need our support and care. 

 Alpha House and our programs seek to provide safety and care for those with drug dependencies. We provide shelter, detox, housing and outreach. 

We appreciate our volunteers and the help they give through sandwich making to create food security for our vulnerable clients.

Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?

Satisfaction of meeting a need for those impacted by addiction and related mental health concerns and for those without homes.  Individual Volunteers who make sandwiches are considered  Kitchen Helpers and once onboard and a free to schedule themselves in that role. This means you can assist in the kitchen once orientation has been completed.
