Art Therapy: Opening Minds Through Art (OMA) Program

Bethany Riverview is seeking dynamic volunteers who enjoy connecting and interacting with seniors. The OMA program is a facilitated, evidence-based, intergenerational art-making program for people living with dementia. One residents (artists) is paired with one volunteer over an 8 week period who supports and encourages the resident to utilize their imagination and focus on their remaining strengths to create beautiful, abstract art work. An art show and silent auction follows the program. The program's goal is to build bridges across age and cognitive barriers through art. Support and guidance are provided by the program facilitators.
Certification or Education Required
Be responsible and patient, compassionate, and demonstrate professionalism.
