Volunteer Grant Writers - STEM INNOVATION PROGRAM - Volunteer Role

The Stem Montessori Academy of Canada is a federally registered not-for-profit regional science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) program open to all students with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application. The STEM program educates students from preschool to high school and is available to all children nationwide. SMAC specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Reporting to the National Director, the volunteer Grant Writer will help to source, complete and submit applications to various funding outlets.


Duties and Responsibilities:
●	Identify new potential income streams
●	Aid the fundraising sub-committee including gifts in kind, grant writing and sponsorships.
●	Help to lead the new individual giving development plan for 2023 which includes recruitment and development of new donors
●	Work closely with the Director Board of Directors to establish a portfolio of large, long term, broad based corporate partnerships that provide sustainable income for our programs
●	Work on an in-kind donations program
●	Establish and develop our building fund initiative and work with the Board of Directors to execute the plan.


Requirements:
●	Highly collaborative style
●	Experience in writing compelling stories and compositions.
●	Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills
●	A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives
●	Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to "manage by influence"
●	High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve others and the community.
●	Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants and other supporters.
●	Self-starter, able to work independently; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our biggest and most important STEM Innovation Summer Program to date, running across 4 provinces!

We need eager volunteers to help us plan, and execute this program. Whether you are a new volunteer or a past volunteer, we are reaching out to you to see if you have any time to lend. We need your help!

The volunteer requirements for this program is a commitment of at least 2-4 hours per week from April 2 - 15 and will last until June 30, 2024. We have a lot of exciting opportunities including team leadership, management, supervisory, and VP positions available for this project.

With all hands and hearts on deck, we have the opportunity to make an even greater impact on our community than ever before.

This STEM Innovation Program is not just about tasks - it's about commitment, dedication, and delivering results that will change lives. Together, we have the power to create positive change and leave a lasting legacy in our community.

*Please note, that you must be available for the next 3 months if you commit to a position listed above. All volunteers on board for this project must be available to attend weekly team meetings on any ONE of the following days:

- Thursday evenings 8 pm Eastern - 40 - 60 minutes, OR
- Sunday evenings 8 pm Eastern - 40 - 60 minutes, OR
- Wednesday noon Eastern - 40 - 60 minutes
