Bowlathon Planning Committee - Volunteer

STEM Canada is a registered not for profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Duties include:
- Ensuring that you are an active part of the bowlathon planning team to help create and plan all the aspects of the event.
- Working with each venue to ensure that the 4-hour event is planned down to the smallest detail.
- Work with the team to ensure that we have the required number of teams registered for the event.
- Ensure that all the activities taking place during the event are planned.

Volunteer Committee Needs:
Team Lead / Event Manager:
- Oversees the entire event, sets goals, and ensures that all team members stay on track.
- Coordinates efforts, monitors progress, and makes strategic decisions.
- Works with venues of logistics.

Marketing and Communications Manager:
- Develops the campaign's messaging and content.
- Manages email marketing, social media, and other promotional materials.

Design and Creative Specialist:
- Creates visually appealing graphics, images, and videos for promotional materials.
- Ensures a consistent and compelling visual brand.

Social Media Manager:
- Develops and executes the social media strategy.
- Posts updates, interacts with followers, and monitors engagement.

Email Marketing Specialist:
- Manages email invitations, from design to distribution.
- Tracks email performance and adjusts strategies accordingly.

Content Writer:
- Writes persuasive and emotionally compelling content for various campaign materials, including emails, blog posts, and website content to promote event.

Web Developer/Designer:
- Ensures the campaign website is functional, user-friendly, and mobile-responsive.
- Updates and optimizes the website as needed.

Volunteer Coordinator:
- Recruits and manages the event volunteers.
- Assigns roles and responsibilities to volunteers and ensures they are well-informed, and the event is well staffed with volunteers.

Registration Coordinator:
- Provides support to registered teams by addressing their questions and concerns and communicating with them via email.
- Manages logistics and coordinates event details with registrants.

Sponsorship and Donations Coordinator
- Collects various giveaways and donations for the participants.
- Coordinates donation of door prizes awards.
- Coordinates participant swag and t-shirts

Community Engagement Specialist:
- Engages with community partners and local organizations to register teams for participation in the event.

Donation Processing Specialist:
- Manages the online giving platform and ensures donations are processed securely and efficiently.

PR and Media Relations Coordinator:
- Handles media outreach and press releases to generate media coverage for the event.
