Peer-to-Peer Melanoma and Skin Cancer Support is a free, confidential service that connects people with trained volunteers who have first-hand experience with melanoma or skin cancer or caring for someone with melanoma or skin cancer. Peer to Peer support does not replace professional counselling and/or medical advice. The program is designed to connect melanoma and skin cancer patients to a trained and certified peer who has also faced melanoma. Peer volunteers are trained and then assigned (to the best of Melanoma Canada’s ability) by similar geographic location, diagnosis, life situation, and age. Peer volunteers will share their stories, act as a supportive mentor and provide emotional support and guidance. This service is offered by telephone and email connecting people anywhere in Canada.

Melanoma Canada provides extensive training and ongoing support for all of our peer support volunteers.
