Who are we? The Checkmate Foundation is a registered non-profit that provides opportunities to different communities to foster development and inclusion through chess education. We accomplish this through structured programming, workshops, tournaments and other chess-related events. For more details, please visit checkmatefoundation.ca. Our Impact: In 2023 so far we have helped over 1000+ people learn chess, 5000+ games played, 15+ community partners, and 70+ chess sets donated.

Do I need to know how to play chess? Knowing the game of chess, even the basics is an asset. You do not need to know how to play for media roles. Please look at the specific position you are applying for.
