STEM Canada is a registered not for profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Volunteer Summary:

We are looking for a volunteer copywriter who can assist with writing content for our website and brochures. Our ideal candidate has excellent communication skills both oral and written. You have a high focus on organization, attention to detail and are always learning about our programs and facility to share your knowledge of why STEM is important as an education choice. You know the importance of using words to convey messages clearly and effectively. Most importantly, you value the importance of a STEM education and understand it’s global benefits to the future of a child’s academic success.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Keep up to date with new trends in STEM education by researching STEM innovation, companies, and worldwide trends.
- Maintain an understanding of the STEM field and the education field.
- Create copy that is consistent with company philosophy, principles, programs, and marketing strategy for website, brochures, and blogs.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, web developers, and other creative team members to produce market ready content.
- Seek feedback and apply it to your work.
- Maintain quality control by using STEM Canada’s style in your work, including tone of voice and wording.
- Present the final product to senior coworkers.
- Create clear, effective, and original copy that grabs people’s attention.
- Create versatile copy that is accessible to many different audiences.

Skills and Requirements: 

- Strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Have knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
- Ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment
- Works effectively as part of a team, dependable and takes initiative
- Can creatively solve problems ensuring positive outcomes
- Possesses solid decision-making skills, and high work standards, committed to upholding the institutions reputation
