We are looking for motivated people to join our team of volunteer for the Calgary Maple Festival des Sucres! The festival will take place March 2nd and 3rd at Heritage Park. You will participate to the success of a unique winter event in Calgary!

About the Maple Fest:

The Calgary Maple Festival des Sucres is produced by Association canadienne-française de l’Alberta, regional of Calgary (ACFA Calgary), a non-profit organization whose mandate is to promote the interests and ensure the global development of the francophone community.

Inaugurated in 2002, the Maple Festival des Sucres de Calgary is an annual winter event that has become a must see event of March in Calgary, that celebrates the French Canadian, Métis and First Nations cultures, their traditions and stories, while offering a memorable cultural experience in French. Held since 2016 at Heritage Park in a genuine and charming atmosphere, this event celebrates an Eastern Canada traditions. Expect: folk music and dances, crafts workshops, delectable local products at the Sugar Market, outdoor activities for families, horse-drawn hay wagon, traditional sugar shack meal and let’s not forget the delicious maple taffy on snow. Job Description:

Here’s an overview of the volunteer positions available:

    Help with preparations (at ACFA offices)
    Festival participant’s welcome and registration
    Box Office (Must be fluent in French and English)
    Outdoor Activities
    Greeting and assistance to the performing artists
    Assistance to the vendors and exhibitors
    Assistance at the Children's Village
    Assistant stage manager
    Mascot
    Volunteer rooms assistant
    Help at the Celebration Tent
    Help at the Wainwright hôtel
    Help at the Hudson Bay Fort
    Security (18 +)
    Green team
    Survey and Passport

Your tasks will vary, depending on which sector you will be assigned. You will find a positive and casual atmosphere at the Festival. We are looking for dynamic people who can provide the public a memorable and fun experience.

*You will receive, over the month of January, a volunteer form, to confirm your preferred positions and your availabilities. You will need to be available for a minimum of four hours during the festival and to attend a training session that will be provided prior to the event.
