Reporting to the Active Aging Volunteer Coordinator and Active Aging Assistant (on site), the Singer/Musical Instrument Entertainer volunteer will work as an integral part of the Silvera team.  You will lead programming for residents through a model focused on the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional vocational/environmental and physical well-being of residents. 
The Singer/Musical Instrument Entertainer Volunteer will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of music programs. The volunteer will specifically be providing residents with a social and intellectual environment in which residents can enjoy playing and listening to a variety of instruments and music in each community and across the organization. 


•	Attend orientation with Active Aging Volunteer Coordinator, job shadow Active Aging Assistant
•	Promote program with individuals and groups to highlight benefits and encourage participation
•	Support independence and choice for residents by highlighting adaptations to programs;
•	Positive interaction with residents to reduce social isolation 
•	Evaluate programs through anecdotal observation and commentary from residents;
•	Support and mentor other internal and external program volunteers.
•	Ensure adequate resources are in place for the program, including supplies and venue spaces
•	Participate in Silvera's Health and Safety program by effectively identifying potential hazards


•	Demonstrates a passion for and experience working with seniors;
•	Demonstrates creativeness, enthusiasm and a positive, team-oriented attitude is essential;
•	Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, additional languages are an asset;
•	Well organized, creative and adaptable;


•	Must have own vehicle as occasional travel is required (if facilitating program within multiple communities)
•	Ability to work in varying work environments, both independently and as part of a high performing team.
•	Be flexible and have the ability to respond to a variety of changing duties and work routines.


•	Regularly scheduled shifts occur on business days as well as early evening and/or weekend shifts.
