Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) is a non-profit organization and is currently seeking a volunteer Art Workshop Facilitator to expand the knowledge and experience of art for students within the Homework Club. The Art Workshop Facilitator will contribute to a team that facilitates the inclusion of immigrant/refugee students in all aspects, academic and leisure, within the Homework Club location. Responsibilities: • Facilitate meaningful student participation with a particular focus on visual arts bi-weekly. For example, to design and prepare approximately 1 to 1.5 hour art workshops with basic art materials. • Support student to develop strategies to explore personal art style and art expression through the Art Workshops. • Facilitate relationships amongst student by helping them express emotions and feelings through visual arts. • Actively collaborate with and positively support other volunteers and program facilitators. Qualifications: • Post-Secondary education and experience in the field of Fine Arts and/or Visual Arts is strongly preferred • Excellent communication, collaborative and organizational skills • Current Police Check clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening Note: This is a funding-based program, ISC will be able to provide approximately $20-30 budget weekly for materials needed towards the Art Workshop Facilitator to conduct the Art lesson.
