The purpose of the Summer Reading Tent program is to promote reading and literacy during the summer months in a fun and engaging way! Over the summer we will be running daily Reading Tents in partnership with community organizations and festivals. These tents run primarily on weekdays for 2 to 3 hours and we need volunteers who have a love of reading to help us read to youth ages 5-12 and run literacy themed activities! We ask that volunteers commit to at least three tents over the summer, but dates are very flexible.

Frontier College volunteers and staff will set up the tents, start with a reading circle, and afterwards move into a book themed activity. This could include word games, writing stories and other fun literacy activities. Afterwards, each child gets to choose a book to take home with them.
