Back End Web Developer/Designer

Buds in Bloom | Bourgeons en Éclat is looking for volunteer team players to complement our IT team with expertise in back-end web design and development to build a web platform.

What will you be assigned to do?

- Design and build a web application platform.
- Work mainly on the back-end of the web application platform, and, as needed, on the front end.
- Work with other web developers in the team.
- Develop the web platform following industry development and quality standards.

Core Skills

- Background in building interactive HTML interfaces using Javascript frameworks.
- Experience with developing software using Agile software development.
- Competency in writing optimized code.
- Education and work experience

Junior, intermediate or senior level experience with:
Javascript (required)
CSS (required)
HTML5
JavaScript frameworks like Angular or Vue.js
Experience with .NET MVC Framework or open source PHP frameworks like CakePHP, Laravel, etc.
Experience writing SQL queries in RDBMSs like MS SQL Server or MySQL.

The change you will bring with your volunteering is sooner rather than later relief, hope and empowerment to families living with a child who has a disability by creating this new and efficient online platform system, in collaboration with the Board and committee members.

Time Commitment:

Meetings are held in person and/ or by telephone or tele-conferencing on a monthly and quarterly basis with email communications in between as needed. So, the total minimum time commitment is about 12 hours per month (3-5 hours per week). An initial twelve-month mandate is suggested.
