HEADS UP Mental Health Researcher/Writer

8-24 hours / monthly
6 months
The Fresh Outlook Foundation produces HEADS UP Community Mental Health podcasts, videos, blogs, and social media campaigns that explore mental health issues and conditions with Canadians from all walks of life. These include people with lived experience of mental illness and recovery; mental health professionals and researchers; policy, programming, and technology experts; government and business leaders; and advocates of all stripes. Our popular programming is accessed by people from all sectors, ages, cultures, abilities, genders, and interests in Canada and more than 50 countries worldwide.

We're looking for a person passionate about mental health with experience in research and writing to create regular blogs and contribute to other programming. The blogs will contain personal stories, current evidence-based info, and input from Canadian advocacy groups. For example, a blog about bipolar disorder would include a person with lived experience of bipolar disorder and recovery, a psychiatrist or university doing research, and perspectives from the Mood Disorders Society of Canada.

Writing style should be conversational and highly engaging... written to inform, inspire, and mobilize positive change for individuals, families, workplaces, and/or communities!
