About Us Hey there! 👋 We’re The Kaleidoscope Mental Health Support Society, a registered charity dedicated to peer support, connection, and breaking down barriers to mental health care. Our mission? To create a community where people with lived experience—especially those navigating early psychosis—feel empowered, supported, and heard. We’re all about inclusivity, accessibility, and storytelling that makes an impact. Who We’re Looking For We welcome volunteers who "get it" because they’ve been there. This includes: People with lived experience of mental health challenges or neurodivergence Those who have experienced psychosis, mood disorders, anxiety, or other conditions Anyone who has accessed peer support or mental health services Caregivers, family, or loved ones supporting someone with lived experience Individuals from equity-deserving communities (Indigenous, racialized, LGBTQIA2S+, disabled, etc.) We believe lived experience is expertise 💡—your voice, skills, and creativity can make a real difference! What You’ll Be Doing (aka Your Superpowers 🦸) As our Social Media Manager, you’ll create and manage all social media channels to amplify Kaleidoscope’s message. You’ll help shape how we communicate online, making sure our content is engaging, informative, and accessible to our community. Plan, create, and schedule social media posts across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok Engage with our audience—respond to comments, start conversations, and build a welcoming online space Stay on top of trends in mental health, peer support, and nonprofit storytelling to keep our content relevant Work with the marketing and leadership team to align content with Kaleidoscope’s mission and campaigns What We’re Looking For 3 – 5+ years of experience in social media content creation and management 10 – 20 hours per month for someone serious in gaining experience in a volunteer leadership role and a career in social media management. Creative storytelling skills—you love writing, graphic design, video editing, or anything that helps tell a story! Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and tools like Canva or Buffer A passion for mental health advocacy and peer support Leadership and organization skills—comfortable guiding a team and keeping things on track Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
