🎨 Volunteer Social Media Manager 📢

10-20 hours / monthly
3 months with potential for renewal
About Us

Hey there! 👋 We’re The Kaleidoscope Mental Health Support Society, a registered charity dedicated to peer support, connection, and breaking down barriers to mental health care. Our mission? To create a community where people with lived experience—especially those navigating early psychosis—feel empowered, supported, and heard. We’re all about inclusivity, accessibility, and storytelling that makes an impact.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome volunteers who "get it" because they’ve been there. This includes:
People with lived experience of mental health challenges or neurodivergence
Those who have experienced psychosis, mood disorders, anxiety, or other conditions
Anyone who has accessed peer support or mental health services
Caregivers, family, or loved ones supporting someone with lived experience
Individuals from equity-deserving communities (Indigenous, racialized, LGBTQIA2S+, disabled, etc.)
We believe lived experience is expertise 💡—your voice, skills, and creativity can make a real difference!

What You’ll Be Doing (aka Your Superpowers 🦸)

As our Social Media Manager, you’ll create and manage all social media channels to amplify Kaleidoscope’s message. You’ll help shape how we communicate online, making sure our content is engaging, informative, and accessible to our community.
Plan, create, and schedule social media posts across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok
Engage with our audience—respond to comments, start conversations, and build a welcoming online space
Stay on top of trends in mental health, peer support, and nonprofit storytelling to keep our content relevant
Work with the marketing and leadership team to align content with Kaleidoscope’s mission and campaigns

What We’re Looking For

3 – 5+ years of experience in social media content creation and management
10 – 20 hours per month for someone serious in gaining experience in a volunteer leadership role and a career in social media management.
Creative storytelling skills—you love writing, graphic design, video editing, or anything that helps tell a story!
Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and tools like Canva or Buffer
A passion for mental health advocacy and peer support
Leadership and organization skills—comfortable guiding a team and keeping things on track
Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Be part of a supportive, peer-led nonprofit making a real impact

Use your creativity (or learn new skills!) in content strategy, social media, and storytelling

Boost your portfolio with real-world experience in digital marketing and nonprofit communications

Work on a meaningful project that directly helps people access mental health resources

Flexible, remote work—volunteer from anywhere, on your schedule!
